Obituary: James Taylor Cena, 21, of Hazlet

James Taylor Cena, known as "JT', passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was 21 years old and lived in Hazlet. 

James was born on December 22, 1992 in Neptune and lived most of his life in Hazlet with his family. He was a graduate of Raritan High School, class of 2011.

JT's smile was infectious and warmed you instantly. He was extremely funny and was a force of nature. He never stopped moving. He was also an avid sports fan and an amazing self-taught drummer; music was his passion. He loved his family and friends, and was never ashamed to verbalize it every day. JT was unique in every way and will never be forgotten. 

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Joseph T. Cena and his uncle, Robert Costa. JT is survived by his loving parents, James Roy and Maryann Costa-Cena; his loving grandparents, Marge Cena, William and Tina Costa; his adoring sister, Carina Alyce Cena; his dear aunts and uncles, Bill Costa, John and Patti Bishop, Christopher Costa, Joseph and Dawn Cena and his cherished cousins, Billy Costa, Amy and Dave Panick, Alyson Panick and Justin Cena. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, July 2nd from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM and Thursday, July 3rd from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday, July 3rd, 10 AM, St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. In respect of his family's wishes, JT will be privately cremated.
