Holmdel Resident Jean S. Grennan Dies at 90

Grennan worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Middletown Board of Education.

Jean S. Grennan, 90, of Holmdel, NJ, died on March 9, 2014 at the Willows at Holmdel. She was born in Easton, PA to the late George Washington and Dorothy Clara Hosier and lived in Keansburg and West Palm Beach, Fl. before moving to Holmdel 12 years ago. Jean worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Middletown Board of Education until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed needlepoint and she was an avid reader, she would read a book a day, sometimes two.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Joanne Grennan III; her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Anthony Pasquale; her five grandchildren, John, Lucianne, Steven, Scot, and Jessica; and her three great-grandchildren, Charles, William, and Johnny.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years,Thomas Grennan in 2012, and her brother, Robert Hosier in 1984.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 13 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Thursday, March 13 at 10:30 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., N. Middletown. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.
