Hazlet Resident Jane E. Sickles Dies at 81

Sickles worked as an x-ray technician with Perth Amboy Hospital before retiring.

Jane E. (Anderson) Sickles, 81, of Hazlet, passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  Born in Pennsylvania, she resided most of her life in Hazlet.  She worked as an x-ray technician with Perth Amboy Hospital before retiring. 

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Jean Decker Anderson; a son, Robert Sickles, Jr.; and her siblings, Richard, David and Donald Anderson; and Ellen Jenson.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert H. Sickles; a son, James C. Sickles and his wife Susan Weiss of Union Beach a daughter-in-law, Terry Sickles of Union Beach; two dear sisters, Beth Fennell and her husband Bernie of Minnesota; and Virginia Hassell and her husband Sam of Myrtle Beach, SC; cherished grandchildren, Craig and wife Alexa of Hazlet; Jeremy and wife Melanie of Union Beach; Kevin and wife Meave of W. Long Branch; Jason and girlfriend, Aleyna Fetta of Pt. Pleasant; Diane Salge and husband James of Epping, NH; former daughter-in-law, Patricia Bish of Myrtle Beach, SC; precious great grandchildren, Ryan, Nikki, Abigail, Jackson, Dylan and Evelyn; and many dear friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited Friday, March 7, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Saturday, 9:30 AM with a 10AM service at the funeral home.  Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in memory of Jane.  To post an online condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
