Hazlet Resident Alfred R. Carver Dies at 88

He worked for the United States Postal Service.

Alfred R. Carver, 88, of Hazlet, New Jersey died Wednesday at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel. Alfred was born on December 30, 1925 in Orange, New Jersey. After graduating High School he enlisted in the United States Navy where he left honorably discharged. When he returned home from service he went to work for the United States Postal Service, he then met his wife Virginia and got married. They moved to Hazlet and raised their family. 

Alfred was predeceased by his parents Albert and Jeanie, his wife Virginia, his daughter Beverly Lessard, and his grandson Billy. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia. Alfred was the devoted father of William Sr. He was also the loving brother in law of Doris Hanover. Alfred is survived by his grandchildren Rachel (Tony), Meggan, Lindsey, Dominika (Billy’s wife) as well as great grandchildren Lexie, Lillie, Laine, and Anthony. Alfred loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren and his dog Rascal.

Alfred will be reposing at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 1735 Route 35 Middletown, New Jersey 07748 on Sunday at 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will take place Monday morning at 10am at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, New Jersey.
