Former Bell Labs Employee Philip Daniele Dies at 88

A decorated US Army WWII veteran and a POW in Germany, he was awarded the Bronze Star.

Phillip Paul Daniele, 88, died Thursday, May 2. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he had a 34 year career at Bell Labs in Holmdel, where his work with the US Department of Defense and Space Program earned him several patents.

A decorated US Army WWII veteran and a POW in Germany, he was awarded the Bronze Star.

His family includes his wife of 61 years, Eileen Daniele; son, Phillip Daniele, Jr. of Miami FL; son, John Daniele and his wife, Kathleen of Oviedo FL; grandchildren, Marie Wall, her husband Justin Wall and Thomas Daniele; and his sister, Jenny Monaco.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 7 at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Melbourne, Fla. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., a funeral mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne, Fla.

Burial with military honors will be on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery.
