Organization Advocating for Abused Monmouth Children Seeks Volunteers

Information session to be held Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is seeking volunteers for its Monmouth County program.

Adults 21 years or older would act as advocates for Monmouth County children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect, according to News Transcript. There are approximately 600 children in Monmouth County who are victims of abuse and neglect.

CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge and trained to represent a child’s best interest in court, News Transcript reported.
