Annual Health Care Perspectives Luncheon Raises Funds to Support Meridian Health

Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations recently hosted its 23rd annual Health Care Perspectives Luncheon at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, for nearly 400 guests. Funds raised at the event benefit Meridian’s not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in Monmouth and Ocean counties.  This year’s event chair was Albert A. Zager, Esq. of Zager Fuchs, P.C.

The event raised over $62,000 to benefit Meridian’s not-for-profit hospitals, which includes Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in Neptune, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, and community health programs in Monmouth and Ocean counties.  This educational forum is an annual event that enables local business leaders to learn about health care issues that have an impact on their companies and communities. The event also provides a showcase of Meridian Health’s various service lines.

This year’s keynote address, titled, “Lessons Learned from the Roll-Out of Health Reform in Massachusetts and the Nation.” was presented by Jon Kingsdale, PhD., currently managing director of the Boston office of Wakely Consulting Group, who is a national consultant on issues related to health care reform. The discussion addressed challenges and opportunities for employers, new consumer options on the Exchange and opportunities and threats for health care systems.
