What makes a great burger?

Big buns are all very well, but they need to be balanced by an adequate supply of beef. Each bite of the burger should contain both beef and bun.

Beef quality & bread freshness

Structural integrity

PartyofFive, Thank you. I actually tried "25 Burgers" in Matawan for the very first time yesterday (after a very long bike ride along the Henry Hudson Trail.) With each bite of my burger I kept thinking how sorry I was that I did not include them on my favorite burgers list! Amazing burgers! Their Fresh Baked Miami Onion Buns are so unique and incredibly delicious. I will be sure to include "25 Burgers" on Berger's Favorite Burgers Part 2.

LisaMarie, Try Hartigan's Grille in Englishtown. We have several varieties of burgers. All are hand pressed daily. Everything is fresh and made to order. As far as the bun, you are so right! The bun makes the burger. We serve all of our burgers on fresh brioche rolls, making the experience heavenly. Give us a try, you won't be disappointed. As for Chef Matt if you visit us.

off the burger topic, but why can't Red Bank have good restaurants like Asbury. The food choices and actual restaurants are way better. It is not either a italian restaurant or a pizza place. Granted Asbury has the ocean, but RB has a river and does nothing with it.
