Hazlet Resident to Perform in Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade

Julia Cardillo, a junior at UMass, was a member of Raritan High School's marching band for four years, serving as color guard captain for three.

Hazlet will have a connection to this year's Thanksgiving Day Parade, as they watch Julia Cardillo performs with the University of Massachusetts Marching Band.

Cardillo, a junior at UMass, was a member of Raritan High School's marching band for four years, serving as color guard captain for three.

Cardillo's mother Felicia Gulachenski said, "Marching is not just a fall sport for Julia. For the past two summers, she has marched in two drum corps, Fusion Core in North Jersey and last summer she toured the country with Drum Corp’s International’s (DCI)  Jersey Surf.  DCI is marketed as the Marching World’s Major League.  Julia is only the second Raritan graduate in the last 15 years who has participated in this elite activity."

In high school, Cardillo marched in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade twice as a member of the Tournament of Bands All Star Band.

Good luck, Julia!!
