Ackerson Park Opens to a Crowd of Young and Old
"We wanted a place for everyone, this is perfect," Mayor Patrick Impreveduto said.
Holmdel officials wanted a place that had something for everyone, and they accomplished it with Ackerson Park.
The senior community gathered around new bocci and shuffleboard courts on Wednesday, excited to get in a game with the mayor and committee members.

On the other end of the park, children played on the new playground, complete with a gazebo and picnic area. But the swings don't have an age limit, the senior community hopped on and happily revisited childhood.
A Monmouth County Open Space Grant matched approved funds for the project, cutting the cost in half for Holmdel Township.
