Pediatrician at The Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center Hosts Free Open House on Childhood Psychiatric & Learning Disorders

In recognition of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week (May 6-12), Neelam Sell, MD, a developmental-behavioral pediatrician at The Children's Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, will host a free open house on Monday, May 7th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the 255 building in SH001 at the Children’s hospital as part of the Child Mind Institute’s Speak Up for Kids campaign.

Though 15 million children in the United States have psychiatric and learning disorders, fewer than half of them will be identified and get the help they need.

Designed for parents and educators, the open house will focus on psychiatric and learning disorders among children and adolescents, stressing the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.  Dr. Sell will be on hand to answer questions about mental health disorders as well as offer video presentations and handouts about ADHD, anxiety and behavioral management.
