Holmdel Historical Society is having their regular monthly meeting Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 7 pm in the Holmdel Community Center at 4 Crawfords Rd, Holmdel.

The guest speaker is Jane Zysk, Holmdel resident and quilter.

The society recently received a donation of 11 quilts that were made by the Antonides family of Holmdel. The Antonides have been in Holmdel for 5 generations, since pre-Revolutionary War days.

These quilts were made in Holmdel during 1880s-1940s. One of the quilts, “Grandma’s Flower Garden,” is registered with the Heritage Quilt Project of New Jersey, and was hand-stitched by Sara Ella Antonides.

Meetings are free open to the public, with light refreshments.
