Hazlet Girl Scouts Spread Holiday Happiness

Seventh-grader organizes collection for 2013 Thanksgiving dinner

The Cadettes from Hazlet Girl Scout Troop 17 showed thanks for all they have by sharing it with others. Seventh-grader Sydney Jordan wanted to help the Hazlet Recreation Department with its annual Thanksgiving dinner. She asked the other girls in her troop for assistance and they all agreed to lend a hand. Sydney coordinated the collection of food and supermarket gift cards from all the girls in the troop, as well as friends and relatives. The troop even voted to donate some of their funds to this great project. Six Girl Scouts from the troop delivered the donations to Hazlet Recreation at the Cullen Center on Nov. 21, 2013.
