UPDATE: Coastal Flood Warning Issued Along With Winter Storm Warning in Holmdel & Hazlet

A wintery mix started falling this morning in the Bayshore.

The National Weather Service has upgraded the coastal flood watch to a coastal flood warning, as of Friday morning. This warning is in addition to the winter storm warning and hazardous weather outlook already issued for the Bayshore area.

A wintery mix started to fall this morning on the Bayshore and has since turned to rain. The National Weather Service predicts that moderate flooding will be experienced by coastal communities during Friday evening's high tide. Moderate flooding is expected during Saturday morning's high tide.

The National Weather Service also predicts that rain and snow will continue to fall before turning into all snow at about 11 p.m. Friday. Snow is expected to fall until about 10 a.m. Saturday morning, resulting in anywhere between five to nine inches of snow.

In addition to the coastal flooding, rain and snow, the National Weather Service predicts there will be blustery winds between 15 and 20 miles per hour with gusts as high as 33 miles per hour.

By Saturday morning the snow is expected to slow down making for a sunny and windy start to the weekend.
