VIDEO: The Hottest Jobs in Holmdel

Public workers toil under broiling temperatures Thursday.

Despite the extreme heat and humidity, some public workers still had jobs to do.

On Thursday, while most people heeded warnings to stay indoors in air conditioning, Holmdel postal workers, mechanics, custodians and policemen suited up and did their duty in temperatures that hovered between 95 and 100.

Tomorrow, on  July 22, the National Weather Service predicts it will be even worse. It will be sunny and hot, with a high near 101. But if you consider the heat index value, it will feel like 111.
