Storms Soak Monmouth County Monday

A severe thunderstorm watch ended 8:45 a.m., but more rain may fall.

Storms are expected through 2 p.m. Monday.

Earlier, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central New Jersey and Sandy Hook that soaked the area. It ended at 8:45 a.m.

Around 8 a.m., the National Weather Service said there a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds of 60 mph were moving from Colonia to Trenton, or along a line extending from Perth Amboy to Trenton.
