School Bus Accident in Holmdel Wednesday

No children were hurt in the accident, but the bus driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A school bus transporting local Catholic school students collided with another vehicle around 4:10 p.m. on Sept. 14 on Everett Road, near American Way, in Holmdel, say police. The bus then went off the road.

According to the police report, the school bus driver, Johnnie Golden, 59, Keansburg, NJ, was taken to Bayshore Hospital by the Holmdel First Aid Squad and Monoc Paramedics, with minor injuries. The driver of the other car was Joanne Fanzini, 41, of Holmdel, refused medical attention at the accident scene. No children were hurt in the accident, police say.

The Helfrich school bus was transporting children home from St. Leo’s School in Lincroft, NJ, and Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, NJ, say police.

Middletown Twp. Police Dept. responded to the accident to assist with traffic.
