Save The Date: Holmdel's First Mother & Son Dance Will Be Feb. 24

Why should daddies & daughters have all the fun?

On Friday, February 24, the township's Parks and Recreation Dept. will hold a Mother & Son Dance.

On the Sunday following, Feb. 26, they will hold the annual Daddy & Daughter Dance.

The dates were announced at Tuesday evening's Recreation Advisory Council Meeting by the Recreation Dept.'s Deborah Dow.

The dances are for children in grades 3 - 6 and their parents, and they will be held at the Community Center.

The popular Daddy & Daughter dance always sells out quickly. Last year, a dinner and dance ticket cost $80 per couple ($15 additional daughter). Tickets were offered for sale in mid-January at a first come, first served basis.

Ticket sales and prices for the February dances have not been announced yet.

Dow acknowledged Steve "Pops" Cittadino, a Council member and longtime wrestling coach, for advocating for the mommy and son dance.

Cittadino said he loved the idea. "Get the sons dressed up with nice tuxedos and suits," he said
