The accident occurred in the express lanes on the Hazlet section of roadway.

New Jersey State Police have identified Luis Delcarpio, 47, of West Orange as the victim of a fatal accident on the southbound express lanes of the Garden State Parkway on Friday.

At 6:58 a.m., one vehicle struck the guide rail at mile 117.9 while traveling in the Parkway express lanes. The driver and a second passenger, identified as Antonio Delcarpio and Alexander Delcarpio, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Bayshore Community Hospital.

And I am sure that includes you alfonso.
NJarhead February 11, 2013 at 07:54 PM
You don't need to be on the road for it to include you, Paul.
paul heyman February 11, 2013 at 08:58 PM
Thanks for that and the weather report jarhead.
Diane February 11, 2013 at 09:29 PM
I will drive down Rte 35 and encount traffic lights and leave earlier to avoid the parkway!
Bernie February 11, 2013 at 09:42 PM
Turn signaling in New Jersey is Illegal !! Just kidding.
David Rosato February 11, 2013 at 09:57 PM
Yes, Debra, it is like a racetrack. I have noticed this from the Asbury toll area going north. People leave that toll area and drive like its the Indy 500. And people tailgate me in the far right lane, go the left and then cut me off to get off at a nearby exit, what a mentality to drive a car or pickup truck!
Monmouth Resident February 11, 2013 at 11:35 PM
The problem is simple, as you can see when reading all these posts...no one has any patience! You have to realize that people drive like idiots. Getting mad at all the mistakes people make is not the answer...just a great problem. Most of you need to relax!
NJ Resident February 12, 2013 at 04:42 AM
I live in the area... its because that stretch is essentially over a mountain. The same range that you drive-up, for example, in the Highlands on your way to Sandy Hook. You notice it around 117 as you slightly rise and then drop around Holmdel near the Arts Center. Northbound is worse because the incline is higher... so anytime the weather is bad, especially with snow and ice the incline and the curve create a bad combo.
paul heyman February 12, 2013 at 12:28 PM
Fred you are an idiot. That is only true on a 2 lane road.
NJarhead February 12, 2013 at 12:44 PM
Paul, then why are there signs stating as such on the three lane section of the parkway?
Fred RBPatch February 12, 2013 at 01:58 PM
paul heyman- If you believe that, You GOTTA be one of the habitual offenders. So they put them on the GSP so that you know it when you get off? Did you read what wrote before you posted it? And you call ME an idiot?
Fred RBPatch February 12, 2013 at 02:01 PM
Wait a second! paul heyman- I see in a post above, you "never use turn signals"? It's people like you that cause accidents and drive insurance rates up. Based on your ignorance of the rules of the road, maybe you should be retested for your drivers license.
paul heyman February 12, 2013 at 02:48 PM
Listen flintstone look it up in the drivers manual before you further embarrass yourself. The people like you that are obsessed with getting back in the middle lane and then slowing down and cutting people off especially if god forbid you see a po po mobile behind you are the ones causing accidents. Well you and the soccer moms in the mini vans texting their boyfriends.
Jeff February 12, 2013 at 02:51 PM
The problem is idiots like Paul driving down the parkway, changing lanes without signalling, and not keeping to the right. Unless you're passing someone, there's no reason to be in the left lane on the parkway AND it's illegal.
paul heyman February 12, 2013 at 03:16 PM
Jeff you are a complete idiot. It is not illegal to drive on the parkway in the left lane even if you are the only car on the road, Simple. If you can read look it up. If not keep living in your fantasy world.
NJarhead February 12, 2013 at 03:23 PM
"New Jersey already has one of the nation’s toughest “keep-right” laws. Motorists must stay out of the left lane except to pass, and trucks and buses are forbidden to travel in the far-left lane on highways with three or more lanes in one direction." http://nj1015.com/njs-keep-right-unless-to-pass-law-could-get-even-tougher/ http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03/06/new-jersey-looks-to-toughen-keep-right-law/
paul heyman February 12, 2013 at 03:50 PM
Thats just a news article. The only failure to keep right law in NJ is on a one way road. Cite the statute.
NJarhead February 12, 2013 at 04:04 PM
Yes, there is a statue for what you're claiming (keep to the far right of the lane), but there is also a law that states you must keep right and pass left only. The articleS are discussing that law being enforced more harshly.
marguerite stocker February 12, 2013 at 04:07 PM
The laws of New Jersey require motorists to keep to the right, except when passing. Motorists must drive on the right half of the roadway unless driving on a one-way street. Motorists must drive a vehicle as close as possible to the righthand edge or curb of the roadway, except when overtaking and passing another vehicle. (N.J.S.A. 39:4-82)
NJarhead February 12, 2013 at 04:16 PM
@Paul. What you're referring to: "The laws of New Jersey require motorists to keep to the right, except when passing. Motorists must drive on the right half of the roadway unless driving on a one-way street. Motorists must drive a vehicle as close as possible to the right-hand edge or curb of the roadway, except when overtaking and passing another vehicle. (N.J.S.A. 39:4-82) " What the rest of us are referring to: "On a multi-lane roadway, motorists must drive in the lane nearest to the right-hand edge or curb of the roadway when the lane is available for travel, except when overtaking another vehicle or in preparation for a left turn. (N.J.S.A. 39:4-88) "
NJarhead February 12, 2013 at 04:16 PM
That's only half of the "keep right" rules and it's what Paul is talking about.
Fred RBPatch February 12, 2013 at 06:31 PM
Statute was cited, heyman (N.J.S.A. 39:4-88). So tell us, what's "embarrASSment" feel like? Face it. You don't have a clue.
NJarhead February 13, 2013 at 12:22 PM
Paul, you seem so quick to call someone else an "idiot" yet when proven wrong you just take your ball and high tail it home without a word?
Fred RBPatch February 13, 2013 at 01:49 PM
paul heyman is what I call an "ICT" (Internet Comment Terrorist). They hide behind the mask of anonymity, attack with a few disparaging remarks followed by some insults, then run (if they didn't blow themselves up) like cowards. Read his posts on other topics, they all have a similar "MO".
Fred RBPatch February 13, 2013 at 01:50 PM
They're "a dime a dozen" on the internet.
Paul M February 14, 2013 at 01:20 AM
There is very little enforcement on the GSP Remember there used to be a bunch of speed traps every 1.1 miles. 119.9,118.8,117.7,116.6. People in express still slow down southbound after 114 for that paved median area but rarely see a radar cop there either.
Publius February 14, 2013 at 02:09 AM
Yes, ph has failed every time to refer to any facts to support his spurious (ph look that one up) opinions. We need to continue to confront ignorance whenever it raises is ugly head.
NJarhead February 18, 2013 at 12:22 PM
All over the parkway this morning: "STATE LAW KEEP RIGHT PASS LEFT" Paul you should contact the parkway administrator and tell him/her that they are wrong....and apparently an idiot.
NJarheadDB February 18, 2013 at 12:30 PM
Why. Your mommy lets you out to drive jarhead? You must have a very sad life to spend so much time on here posting.
NJarhead February 18, 2013 at 12:46 PM
