Yes, Debra, it is like a racetrack. I have noticed this from the Asbury toll area going north. People leave that toll area and drive like its the Indy 500. And people tailgate me in the far right lane, go the left and then cut me off to get off at a nearby exit, what a mentality to drive a car or pickup truck!

The problem is simple, as you can see when reading all these posts...no one has any patience! You have to realize that people drive like idiots. Getting mad at all the mistakes people make is not the answer...just a great problem. Most of you need to relax!

I live in the area... its because that stretch is essentially over a mountain. The same range that you drive-up, for example, in the Highlands on your way to Sandy Hook. You notice it around 117 as you slightly rise and then drop around Holmdel near the Arts Center. Northbound is worse because the incline is higher... so anytime the weather is bad, especially with snow and ice the incline and the curve create a bad combo.

The problem is idiots like Paul driving down the parkway, changing lanes without signalling, and not keeping to the right. Unless you're passing someone, there's no reason to be in the left lane on the parkway AND it's illegal.

Yes, there is a statue for what you're claiming (keep to the far right of the lane), but there is also a law that states you must keep right and pass left only. The articleS are discussing that law being enforced more harshly.

There is very little enforcement on the GSP
Remember there used to be a bunch of speed traps every 1.1 miles. 119.9,118.8,117.7,116.6. People in express still slow down southbound after 114 for that paved median area but rarely see a radar cop there either.
