An early summer onslaught of rain isn't letting up this week, as a flood watch has been issued for Monmouth County fromThursday morning into lateThursday night by the National Weather Service.
The NWS is calling for one to three inches of rain with higher amounts possible locally. Due to the heavy rain on Friday andMonday, local rivers, creeks and streams are already running high and will not take much additional precipitation to flood over again.
Nearly six inches of rain fell Friday into Saturday, before the deluge continued on Monday from the remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea, which caused flooding along the Jersey Shore and parts of Middlesex, Mercer and Monmouth counties.
