Edna Walsh Running for Assembly on Conservative Republican Platform

Middletown resident wants to bring conservative values back to the party.

Edna Walsh, a Middletown resident who is seeking to oust other challengers and longtime incumbent Amy Handlin in the 13th District Assembly primary race, is running as a conservative Republican who wants to reduce the role of government in people's lives.

"I am concerned over the lack of protection for conservative values," she says on her website. "We are over-regulated, over-taxed, and the government is seeking to control every aspect of our lives."

Referring to herself as a 24-year grassroots activist, Walsh is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked in the health, education and private practice sectors for nearly 20 years.
