So why does Mitt Romney get a pass? Because the Republican Party has been hijacked by Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and their friends, who dedicate every second of their "news" programs in destroying the character of our President.
This election for those on the far right, "the birthers", is not about the policies of our President. Reasonable people can agree or disagree on debt, the stimulus, healthcare reform etc. That is not what the Republican Party is arguing. This is a party that has called the leader of the free world every name in the world, an analyst most recently on Fox News, calling the president "a parasite" - These are people with such hatrid and vitriol in them that they would rather see the country fail so the president is defeated in re-election.
They want the American public to have amnesia for the 8 years of policies from 2001 to 2009 under a right-wing Republican Administration. What did President Obama inherit in January of 2009 when he took office? A country on the brink of a great depression losing millions of jobs, manufacturing about die, wars with Americans getting killed overseas, Bin Laden at large, environmental regulations rolled back and more.
Four years later, Americans are better off. We have a long way to go but thanks to President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton and their entire team, the country is headed forward - the Iraq War over, Bin Laden dead, General Motors alive, and months upon months of economic job growth.
Don't let the Hannity and his friends fool you. This is not about policies - its about hatrid for one man for their own personal reasons.

What makes this amazing is that when the entire birth record issue came up, it was primarily Democratic forces attacking Sen. John McCain citizenship because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. The Dems (and even some Repubs I am sure) did, however, forget to mention McCain's father was a decorated and distinguished Navy officer -- as was McCain's grandfather (FYI: You could not be an foreign national and become a Navy officer, folks! ) McCain's mother -- an American citizen born to American citizens/parents who struck it rich. ...but somehow, being born in a U.S. territory to U.S. military/citizens would be worth questioning but not this man: * Grandfather worked for the CIA involving foreign nationals and setting up CIA programs in foreign countries * Grandmother worked at the bank that laundered CIA money (just a coincidence I guess) * Mother had an affair and became pregnant by a man who was either A) Barack Obama, a foreign national living in the U.S. and was kicked out of the U.S./college for his suspicious marraige(s) (Obama); or B) Frank Marshall Davis: A registered and monitored Soviet agent and member of the Communist Party USA -- and also a known pornographer. * Step-father was a Indonesian Army Officer; Idonesia's Army was a CIA puppet that murdered thousands of opposition party members in that country. ...Wow...amazing again!
It is sickening to listen to bigots who hide behind patriotic symbols and flags to spew their hate and lies - - If we allow the Republican / Tea Party "Dogma" to become reality - they will eliminate all government entitlement programs. Our older non-working parents and grandparents living and health expenses would have to be paid for by us - that would break the back of the Middle-class - and supporting my parents will certainly cost me more than a few more percentages of a tax increase. It is the RICH GREEDY who are funding the right wing nuts in the TEA PARTY to confuse the uneducated majority in this country to vote against their own interests, But now with people like Romney who spent his entire life outsourcing good American Jobs to foreign countries paying sub-standard wages in order to profit a small percentage of the Wealthy Elite - they have most Republican Americans fooled into thinking it is good to eliminate these same social programs that SAVED Starving Americans back in the 1930's and 40's before the War. Once again the answer is to hate the people affected by the GREED of a few rather than put in place laws and REGULATIONS that prevent corporations, Banks, Brokerage Firms from raping the working people of America - Republican/Tea Party Dogma is Anti-women, anti-union, anti-workers and only caters to the Upper 5% - the large Business owners - and cheap labor - Romney is the worst choice you can make because people like him are the problem.
