Patch Picks: Our Route 35 is Paved in Ice Cream
You want a cone, a cup, or a bizarre combination of things that really shouldn't go together? You'll find it in the ice cream parlors along the state highway in Holmdel and Hazlet.
Ice cream opportunities run along our well worn highway like a ribbon of hot fudge. There are twists and shakes and Bombas. Someone has to report on this exciting industry. So your intrepid editor and her two children forced themselves to take a tasting tour of a few shops, over two hot summer days, in the name of journalism. This is what we found, and what they ate.
What is your favorite ice cream joint? Please give us a tip...though, maybe we'll wait a few more days before we try it. From the back seat, there were screams for no more ice cream. "Please, Ma, no more ice cream. I'm done. I want to go home."
