'Paint the Town Pink' Event Highlights, in Holmdel and Beyond

A fat pink stripe is painted down Crawfords Corner Road to herald the start of Meridian Health's 'Paint the Town Pink' week in Holmdel. Oops, we mean "Pinkdel"

Paint the Town Pink begins this Friday and runs through next week. Homes and businesses throughout Holmdel, as well as a half dozen other towns, are getting the pink treatment in support of breast cancer awareness.

Friday, May 4, 7 - 11 pm: Party for Pink at Navesink Country Club, Middletown

A Parisian themed evening with live music by a French jazz band and decadent French cuisine. Tickets are $70. Reservations are limited, registration required. Hosted by the Care To Give Council, a and Bayshore Community Hospital Auxiliary, at the Navesink Country Club, Middletown

Paint Everything Pink at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank

Enjoy Community Day by bringing the whole family out for a day of fun! Featuring many of the same pink “zones” families have come to expect, as well as exciting new ones, this year’s event will feature: Kids’ Fun & Games, Pink it Yourself Man Cave and Rockin’ Country Thunder 106.3 to name a few. A Night With Bill Rancic at Count Basie Theater in Red Bank

An engaging evening with Bill Rancic, author, entrepreneur, and husband.  With warmth, humor, and humility, Bill will candidly talk about his marriage, family, career, and his wife’s recent breast cancer diagnosis – as well as all the unplanned things that happen when you are busy making other plans.

Pink Panel Luncheon, Rumson

An informative and unique discussion from a panel of Riverview Medical Center physicians. Topics of discussion around breast health will include the importance of annual mammography, diagnostic testing, treatment options, and plastic surgery. Our panelists include Bokran Won, M.D., medical director of the Women’s Center at Riverview Medical Center, Debra Camal, M.D., medical director of the breast program for Meridian Cancer Care, and Peter Hetzler, M.D., plastic surgeon affiliated with Riverview Medical Center. This event has a $10 donation to the Pink Fund. Register by May 1 to Ellen Miles, ellenmiles@comcast.net. At Bingham Hall, River Road in Rumson.

Thursday, May 10 7 -10 p.m.

Girls Night Out at the Downtown, Red Bank

"Breast friends" are invited to come in for pink cocktails and treats with live music by the Mike Dalton band. Stick around after 10 p.m. to experience The Downtown’s Rock and Roll Karaoke. Pink outfits are encouraged. Tickets are $60. At the Downtown lounge on 10 West Front Street, Red Bank.

Saturday, May 12 9 am - noon.

Zumbathon Event for Paint the Town Pink, Bayshore Community Hospital

A 90-minute Zumba workout. Zumba pros and newbies alike are welcome to attend. Event includes giveaways, refreshments, children's activities, and also re-affirmation of the importance of annual mammography. Tickets are $10 before May 7 and $15 after. Hosted by Bayshore Community Hospital in partnership with Meridian Fitness and Wellness and Holmdel
