Preparations are underway to mobilize employees and resources in the event of severe summer storms predicted for our area later tonight.
Officials at JCP&L are on high alert this evening, with line and substation workers, storm analysts, hazard responders, dispatchers, forestry crews and support personnel standing ready to respond to possibile power outages from expected storms, according to a press release from the company.

JCP&L reminds its customers to report downed wires to the company or localpolice or fire departments immediately, and cautions to stay away from downed power lines, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity. Customers should not try to remove trees or tree limbs from power lines and should wait for utility crews to arrive.
