The Wedding Singer: A Musical Comedy

The alumni of Saint John Vianney High School will present “The Wedding Singer: A Musical Comedy,” on Aug. 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 2 and 8 p.m. in the Little Theatre of Saint John Vianney High School.

Director/SJV faculty member, Rachel Ryan of Tinton Falls, along with music director, Christian Potterton (class of 2011) of Marlboro and choreographer Kimberly O’Leary (class of 2007) of Port Monmouth are proud to present this high-energy musical based on the well-known romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore! This hysterical show will have you dancing in your seats!

“The Wedding Singer” will feature Joseph O’Leary (class of 2009) of Port Monmouth, as Robbie Hart and Kristen Draeger (class of 2011) of Marlboro as Julia Sullivan. O’Leary played Seymour Krelborn in last year’s alumni production of “Little Shop of Horrors,” as well as Danny Zuko in the SJV alumni production of “Grease” in 2009.  While a student at Saint John Vianney, O’Leary was featured as Prince Charming in “Cinderella” and Conrad Birdie in “Bye Bye Birdie.” Draeger was most recently seen as Urleen in SJV’s spring production of “Footloose,” for which she, along with “Wedding Singer” cast members Danielle Fallon (class of 2011) of Monroe Township and Gennine Damanski (class of 2011) of Freehold Township, received a Count Basie Theater Award which recognizes exceptional achievement in high school musical theater. Draeger was also recently seen on the SJV stage as Iris in “Fame” and The Fairy Godmother in “Cinderella.”

Ticket prices are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Ticket reservations are encouraged, but not required, and can be sent to sjvdrama@gmail.com. Saint John Vianney High School is located at 540 Line Road in Holmdel, NJ. The Little Theatre is air conditioned, for a cool summer show. Don’t miss out on this great production.
