Religious Art History Classes - Caravaggio!

Valerie Hansen will be teaching a vivid, colorful class on the religious art of Caravaggio.  Caravaggio’s paintings are astoundingly realistic, considering that he painted between 1593 and 1610 in Milan, Naples, Rome and Sicily.  

The group will learn about his background, painting style and the historic context of his dramatic (and scandalous!) life, seeking religious meaning in his rough-and-tumble art.
