Speak Out: What About A Farmers' Market or Community Garden in Holmdel? [Poll]

A resident suggests a way to generate some revenue on township open space.

At the end of Thursday's Township Committee meeting, resident Rebecca Pruitt addressed the governing body with a suggestion:

If the township still wanted to pursue revenue-generating ideas on its open lands, why not consider turning some of into a pay-to-participate community garden, a weekly farmers' market that collects fees from sellers, or an organic composting site that residents can contribute to -- and buy from?

It might not make big bucks, she said. But it would make something, and it would return valuable dividends to the citizens of Holmdel who own the open space.
