Holmdel Township Veterans Day Ceremony

On Saturday, America's war veterans were honored at Holmdel's Veterans' Memorial Park.

On Saturday, November 5th, the Annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony was hosted by the VFW Post 5918 and Holmdel Parks & Recreation Department at the Veterans’ Memorial Park, off Telegraph Hill Road. 

On this crisp Fall day, the Master of Ceremonies and VFW Post 5918 Commander, Art Davey, welcomed all in attendance. There was 10 Veterans and about 30 people at the event. The Holmdel PBA Color Guard opened the ceremony with the Raising of Colors and the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks from Holmdel Mayor Patrick Impreveduto.

The ceremony continued with the Vetrans Day and Pearl Harbor Prayer. Ten beautiful memorial wreaths, in honor of the Veterans, were presented by the following organizations: Homdel V.F.W. Post 5918, Holmdel Township Committee,  Holmdel Girl Scouts, Holmdel PBA #239, Holmdel First Aid Squad, Holmdel Half-Century Club, Holmdel Kiwanis Club, Holmdel Republican Party, Holmdel Democratic Alliance and the Holmdel Fire Company #1.

Refreshments were served after the ceremony, compliments of the V.F.W. and the Recreation Dept. Many thanks were extended to those present who served our country.
