Holmdel Scouts Meet Geraldo, Tour Broadcast Stations

Their quest to earn a merit badge takes them to New York. By Lynn Saporito.

On Monday, Den 5 of Pack 331 in Holmdel took advantage of the day off from school to go into New York City and earn their Communications Merit Badge.

The boys took the train from Hazlet to Penn Station and then had a tour of the WABC, WPLJ, ESPN and Disney Radio Stations at 2 Penn Plaza.

The Holmdel scouts got some live airtime when Geraldo Rivera, a former Boy Scout and Middletown, NJ resident. He invited them into the WABC radio booth and chatted with them on-air.
