Giant Menorah Lighting

From the Chabad Center of Holmdel and Colts Neck:

This year's Giant Menorah lighting, presented by Chabad Center of Holmdel and Colts Neck, will take place on Dec. 22 at 5 p.m. at the  PNC Bank Art Center Exit 116 on the Garden State Parkway.

This lighting is viewed by many diverse Jewish people across the state, many of them hundreds of miles from any Jewish community, which makes it  very difficult for them to otherwise celebrate and enjoy Chanukah  properly.

This menorah has become a state symbol of the festival of Chanukah,  bringing inspiration to many communities to sponsor even more public menorah lighting ceremonies of their own.

The event is open to the public. A youth choir will be singing Chanukah songs, and  in children will be entertained by Dreidelman and the Macabees while everyone will be served the traditional delicious Chanukah foods - hot latkes and donuts. Menorah kits and dreidels will be distributed for people to take home.

Local mayors, dignitaries, and officials of Holmdel, Colts Neck and surrounding areas will light the first candle of the Menorah and show their support to the community.
