Holmdel Fire Rescue Co #2

i HAVE JUST HEARD THAT THE hOLMDEL fIRE rescue #2 has been forced to close their doors. Who makes decisions like these without any input from tax paying residents of the town? Not to mention the fact that one fire department could never service the needs of the entire community. EVERYONE who live in holmdel and pays taxes needs to voice their opinion and not allow this process to continue. What happens to all the hard working dedicated volunteers if this firehouse we're to close? I am beyond upset and something needs to be done about it. PETITION the Town Hall

THIS CLOSING NOT ONLY JEOPARDIZES LIFE AND PROPERTY BUT ALSO WILL ENCOURAGE OTHER TOWNS TO DO THE SAME. I LIVE IN MIDDLETOWN AND CAN'T IMAGINE HAVING ONLY ONE FIRE STATION. WAKE UP TAXPAYERS OF HOLMDEL!! DON'T YOU PAY ENOUGH TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE FIRE STATION???

How does the closure jeopardize life and property?

I'm confused. The sign in front of Fire Company #1 says they're closed. If Fire and Rescue Company #2 is closed, then we have no firehouses at all. THAT would jeopardize life and property. My insurance company needs to know: am I or am I not within five miles of a firehouse? Do they measure by road or by straight line? If there are no working firehouses in Holmdel, where is the nearest operational firehouse? There is supposed to be a firehouse on Crawfords Corner Road. Is that Fire Company #1 (closed), Fire and Rescue Company #2 (closed?) or something else? If there is one, where is it? At the school? The post office? The arts center?

Holmdel Fire Company Number 1 is closed not Holmdel Fire Rescue Company 2. Looks like a bad case of believing everything you read!

To the Educated Firefighter... IF there should be more than one fire and a major car accident. and a gas explosion all in Holmdel, how could one fire station take care of all three incidents?? The police do not have the same equipment to assist. Are you a Holmdel firefighter? And if so, how could you ask about jeopardizing life and property?
