Be careful on your morning commute, the National Weather Service has issued a a freezing rain advisory for the morning. Forecasts are calling for freezing rain and some snow, making the morning commute a hazardous one.
Also, beware of the dreaded Ice Jam. The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for Monmouth County, warning of shifting chunks of ice being carried down stream, where they collect near bends or bridge abutments, causing jams.

Texas Tea
On this day in history, a drilling derrick at Spindletop Hill near Beaumont, Texas, produced an enormous gusher of crude oil, coating the landscape for hundreds of feet and signaling the advent of the American oil industry, according to history.com.
