It was almost the perfect crime. On this day in 1950, 11 men stole more than $2 million from the Brinks Armored Car depot in Boston, according to History.com.
While it was bad luck for Brinks, even worse luck may have been when the men were caught. The culprits were captured in January 1956, just days before the statute of limitations for the theft expired
The Essentials
- Hazlet Township announced yesterday that Tuesday late night hours will be suspended due to low or no public attendance. The change is effective Tuesday, Jan. 21. Regular business hours for municipal offices are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The William R. Satz School Pep Rally is Friday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m.
- The Holmdel High School Acting Showcase is Friday, at 7:30 p.m.
