Watch local history come alive at Walnford Day on Oct. 7 in Historic Walnford, Upper Freehold.

Play dress-up with 18th and 19th Century clothing, and even learn how to write with a quill pen. Children can participate in a scavenger hunt on the grounds as they explore the historic site. Horse-drawn wagon rides will also be on site!

The gristmill on the grounds is currently being restored, but is open for tours. A tour of the pre-revolutionary Waln home will be available, from floor to attic.

For more information on Walnford Day and the Monmouth County Park System, visit www.monmouthcountyparks.com or call the Park System at (732) 842-4000. For persons with hearing impairment, the TTY/TDD number is 711. The Monmouth County Park System, created in 1960 by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, is Monmouth County’s Open Space, Parks, and Recreation agency.
