How does the closure jeopardize life and property?

The National Fire Protection standard NFPA 1720 requires a response time of not more than 10Read Moreminutes for a suburban area (500 to 1000 residents per square mile, including Holmdel). According to Google Maps, driving time from (the former) Fire Company #1 to my home in south Holmdel is 3 minutes, meeting the standard. Driving time from Fire and Rescue Company #2 is 11 minutes. Add dispatch time to the driving time, and my house burns down.

Did you do the math from the Crawford’s Corner Firehouse? How about the Firehouse on Vonage?

According to the fire and rescue company's own website, their headquarters is on Centerville RoadRead Morean d they have a substation at 24 Crawfords Corner Road. There is no firehouse on Vonage; it's a promise, not a reality. I don't see a firehouse at 24 Crawfords Corner Road either. Mapquest and Google Maps put it in front of the school. We have the school, the Public Works facility, and the Municipal Complex. Where is the firehouse? Driving time is 11 minutes from the Centerville station. It would be 7 minutes from a station at 24 Crawfords Corner Road and 3 minutes from a Vonage station next to the old firehouse, if they exist and are currently operational.
