Hat Trick for Bulvid as Holmdel Boys Soccer Beats RBC

Playing at home on Roggy field, at times through pouring rain and heavy fog, the Holmdel Hornets defeated Red Bank Catholic for the second time this season, this time by a score of 5-0.  Senior Eric Bulvid had a hat trick, and Gino D'Agostino and Dom Arena each added a goal to finish the scoring.  Senior goalkeeper Mitchell Walier had his 7th shutout of the season.  The Hornets record now stands at (9-1-0)(9-0-0).

Although he was unable to connect tonight, the goal watch is on for fans of Zach Bond and the Holmdel soccer program.  According to Hornets Coach John Nacarlo, the school goal record now held by Blair Primis (HHS'91) stands at 47 career goals; Bond's record is currently 45.

Meanwhile, the girls did not fare as well, losing to RBC 2-1.  Although down 2-0 at the end of the first half, Holmdel battled back.  The defense kept them scoreless in the second half and the Holmdel offense dominated, connecting for 1 goal scored by Jessica Moscal.  The girls record is now 5-5-1 overall and 5-2-1 in their conference.

The Girls Varsity team next plays at home this Saturday, October 6 at 4 pm at Roggy field.  The Boys Varsity team gets a well deserved rest and does not play their next game until Monday, when they travel away to play Manasquan.

Put on your Holmdel blue and come on out on Saturday to support the girls.  See you there.
