Walter Jubinsky, Longtime Raritan HS Teacher and Coach, Dies Unexpectedly
Jubinsky taught physical education and driver's ed for 25 years at RHS in Hazlet.
Walter Jubinsky, 81, of Colts Neck, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 8 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, with family and friends at his side. He was born in Jermyn, Pa. to Michael and Anna Jubinsky.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from East Stroudsburg University. He taught physical education at Marlboro Middle School, and went on to Raritan High School in Hazlet to teach phys ed there and driver's ed for 25 years between 1962-1987, before spending three more years at Cove Road and Raritan Valley Schools. He retired from the Hazlet School District in 1989. He coached baseball and basketball, and also taught driver's education.
He was predeceased by his brother, Eugene. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Mae; his three sons, Michael and his wife Debra of Huntington Beach, CA, Mark, at home, and Joel of Perris,CA; his daughter, Natalie Jubinsky Arrowood of Millstone; his brother, John of Hawaii; five grandchildren, Alexandra and Gregory Jubinsky, Noah Jubinsky, and Sarah and Jessica Arrowood; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Walter's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service being held at 12:30 p.m.
