Holmdel Teachers Thanked by PTSO at Luncheon
The high school parent-teacher-student organization thanks the teachers at Holmdel High.
Pink was the theme for the annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon at Holmdel High School Wednesday.
Hospitality volunteers Chris Hazel and Emma Butler were inspired by the "Pinkdel" theme, promoted by Meridian Health for its breast cancer awareness week in Holmdel Township May 4-12.
There were pink roses, pink tulle, and lighted pink lanterns hanging from the ceiling. "We even had it down to a duct tape pink line running the length of the buffet line," said Mary Lou Moramarco, president of the PTSO.
Cake was served in honor of two familiar faces who will retire, English teacher Sandra W. Whitten and Eileen Kerwick, Secretary to Athletic Supervisor. A take-home package of pastries was sent to Holmdel Teacher of the Year Matthew Goetke, who was preparing for the May 10 Satz School Choral and Handbell Concert and could not attend.
