Police: Man Stole $117K Worth of Perfume From CEI

Juan Bernal allegedly helped himself to over 2,000 bottles of perfume.

A New Brunswick man allegedly stole $117,108 in perfume from Cosmetics Essence Innovations in Holmdel on Friday.

According to an arrest warrant filed by New Jersey State Police, 52-year-old Juan Bernal employed a 17-year-old in the alleged theft by having the juvenile load the perfume into a black Honda Passport.

Authorities say Bernal took 1,890 4.2-ounce bottles of 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden valued at $109,620. He is also accused of taking 234 3.4-ounce bottles of Victoria Secret Live Pink valued at $7,488.

Trooper F. Bermudez is listed as the arresting officer in court documents. Bernal was remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $100,000 bail with no option to post 10 percent of the bond.
