Police: Keyport Gas Station Mistakenly Distributes Jet Fuel
The station received the wrong delivery, police say.
Update: Keyport was one of six gas stations to receive jet fuel, according to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. - 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12
Delta Gas Station on Route 36 in Keyport was shut down Friday after the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office reported to local police that jet fuel was mistakenly delivered to that station and a station in Manasquan, according to a press release from Keyport Police Chief Butch Casaletto.
The jet fuel caused several vehicles to stall out due to the fuel mixture, Casaletto explained.
It's unknown at this time if the jet fuel was added to the hightest or to the regular fuel tank.
Monmouth County Hazmat and the Keyport Fire Department were contacted and advised police that there was no fire danger in regards to the fuel delivery.
The New Jersey Service of Emergency Response Team will be following up on this matter, according to Casaletto. Police ask that anyone who purchased fuel at this location and is having car trouble to contact the Keyport Police Department at 732-264-0706 to report it. Callers will be asked to document the time of their purchase with their receipt.
Sgt. Steven Dixon and Ptl. Gregory Johnson responded to the scene.

What are the chances that there's an airplane about to try and take off with a tank full of 87 octane unleaded!!!

I was unfortunate to be one of the cars. If you were also involved post a blog and we will try and get together to find out our options.

This will not cause your car to run badly. aviation fuel is higher octane than Super and will probably clean out your injectors and make your car run better.

Roman, it's true that aviation gas won't hurt your car, but AvGas is different than jet fuel. Jet fuel is similar to kerosene and your car won't run worth crap on it.

Yeah....what happens if you don't have your receipt? They will probably accuse you of putting your own jet fuel in your car.

I purchased fuel from this station on October 27 - the car had no problem before that. I drove to Asbury Park and noticed a little hesitancy then the car started acting up on the way back from AP. Specifically stepping on the gas and only going as fast as 50 on the parkway. The car was taken to a Nissan dealer to be fixed.
