New Assistant Principal for Holmdel High
Holmdel BOE voted to approve Michele England to the Holmdel High School staff
At their July 25 meeting, the Holmdel Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Holmdel High School's new assistant principal at a salary of $92,000. Michele England, 31, of Barnegat, officially begins her tenure on August 6.
"I'm very honored and excited to be joining the Holmdel High School’s administrative team," said England as she addressed the Board.
"I would like to thank the entire selection committee, administration and Board of Education for this wonderful opportunity. I am truly looking forward to this upcoming school year and working with each of you to continue the tradition of excellence that exists throughout the district," she said.
A graduate of Monmouth University with a Bachelors Degree in Education, England holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Scranton. She taught mathematics at Lacey Township High School in 2004 and became Dean of Students in 2011. While at Lacey, she also served as Head Women's Swimming Coach and an assistant coach for both soccer and softball.
The duties of her position include attendance and discipline for grades 9 and 11. In addition, England will be Supervisor of World Languages.
She lives in Barnegat with her husband Jason and 1 year old daughter Kylie, who were both in attendance, cheering her on.

Dan, she is replacing another assistant principal, who left the district to become the High Tech principal. We will not be "laden down" with anything extra because of this, it is a replacement hire.

31 years old? It can't be her experience that makes her worth $92,000/year.

She's worth more if she's a Scranton grad. Congrats!

What is in her bio that qualifies her for Supervisor of World Languages? The bio said she majored in Education, taught Math in Lacey High school (don't you need a degree in Math to teach math at the HS level?), and was Dean of Students. Is there any extra salary involved in being Supervisor and Asst Principal? Maybe there are things missing in her bio.
