Matawan Police Seize Over 6 Pounds of Marijuana from Freneau Avenue Home
Police say five men were in possession of over six pounds of marijuana, as well as other drugs and drug paraphernalia and a stun gun.
Five men were arrested Wednesday in Matawan on charges relating to possession and distribution of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and weapons offenses as the result of a two-month long narcotics investigation conducted by the Matawan Police Department's Detective Bureau.
The Matawan Police Department executed a search warrant at a Freneau Avenue home at about 3:30 p.m. on April 26, according to Sgt. Thomas Falco. Police seized $10,000 in cash, over six pounds of marijuana, 13 grams of cocaine, five glass smoking pipes, an imitation handgun and a 600,000 volt stun-gun from the home, Falco said. Scales and packaging materials used for distribution of narcotics were also found at the home. Police also seized a 1995 Honda Civic.
Police arrested Joey Sieredzinski, 20, of Matawan; Daniel Mattis, 21, of Long Branch; Jerelle Medford, 22, of Bronx; Derek Pelligra, 21, Matawan; and Emanuel Pastorello, 21, of Matawan.
Hon. John G. Colannino, Matawan Municipal Court Judge, set bail at $125,000.00 for Sieredzinski, $100,000.00 for Mattis and $75,000.00 for Medford. They were committed to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail. Both Pelligra and Pastorello were released on their own recognizance.
Detectives Joseph Lovallo and Steven Sakowski were assisted in this investigation by Ptl. Christopher Stark and Ptl. Paul Ryba. Lt. Jason Gallo, Sgt. Thomas Falco, Sgt. Jeremiah Hourihan and Patrolmen Jennifer Paglia, Andrew Marsala, Sean McCabe, Special Officer Jonathan Borsari and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit assisted with the warrant execution and arrests.
