Holmdel Police: Man Who Allegedly Fled on Foot Arrested in Keansburg
Wise allegedly ran into the woods on Feb. 13 after a routine traffic stop in Holmdel.
Willie Wise, 36 with a last known address in Asbury Park, was arrested this week after allegedly fleeing from Holmdel Police last Wednesday.
Holmdel Det. Sgt. Louis Torres said the department picked Wise up with assistance from Keansburg police.
Torres said Wise had two warrants from Keansburg and Sea Bright, each totaling $1,000.
Wise allegedly ran into the woods on Feb. 13 after a routine traffic stop in Holmdel, and left his 2008 Cadillac CTS. A K-9 search between Holmdel and Middletown but did not find the suspect.
"He knew he had warrants and he knew his license was suspended, that's why he ran," Torres said.
Wise was transported to and processed at the Holmdel Police Department, where a municipal judge set bail at $10,000 with no ten percent option. Torres made bail with the help of a bail bondsman, pending a court date.
Wise was charged in Holmdel with resisting arrest and hindering a police investigation. Wise was originally pulled over for driving with suspended license and failure to maintain a lane.
Det. Andrew Kret of the Holmdel Police Department and Torres made the arrest, with the help of the Keansburg Police Department.
