August 16: The Holmdel Police Department was called to CEI on Route 35 for an alleged employee theft. Police charged Mario Reyes-Matos, 56, of Bronx NY with his alleged involvement in stealing numerous bottles of perfume off the production line by taping them to his legs. Maytos was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and released.

August 16: Police are investigating a possible burglary attempt of a township -owned home on Middletown Road. The Bilco metal doors to the basement had been pried open, but a check of the house revealed nothing had been taken. The investigation is continuing by Det. Sgt. Louis Torres.
