The Borough of Keyport, historic Bayshore neighbor to Matawan, Aberdeen and Hazlet, has an uneasy ringside seat for the anticipated arrival of Hurricane Sandy late Monday. By Sunday afternoon, the waters of Raritan Bay were already roiling and the last few boats had been moved to what their owners hope will be relative safety.

The bayside walkway of Waterfront Park, normally a popular place for fishing and strolling, had little activity. The curious few stood by the rail for a look at the bay, snapping photos or pulling up the hoods on sweatshirts as a chill wind bent the park's newly planted trees.
