Hazlet Still Seeking Part-Time Municipal Administrator

The position is budgeted for 28 hours a week, according to the township website.

 

Hazlet Township is still looking to hire a part-time municipal administrator, according to a post on the township's website. The position was first advertised in early February 2013.

The municipal administrator would work 28 hours a week. The township is seeking a qualified candidate with a BA or BS degree in a government-related field with five years of administrative experience in a New Jersey municipality or managerial experience.

Responsibilities include overseeing personnel, grants, insurance, labor negotiations, purchasing, administrative services, capital planning, employee safety and the budget. 

The optimal candidate must also have excellent written and oral communication skills, have strong computer skills, have the ability to multi-task, be able to meet deadlines and work effectively with the mayor and township committee, township employees and volunteer groups.

Why don't the full time administrator work FULL-TIME instead of part time. Then
the tax payers wont have to pay for another employee to make up for the lack of work that the full time employee LACKS
