Police are warning merchants about a man suspected of shoplifting in local businesses.
Hazlet Police are warning area shop owners to be on the lookout for a man who has been suspected of shoplifting in two Airport Plaza businesses.
The man was seen on videotape allegedly taking merchandise, and then later returning it for $100. In the other case, employees saw him acting suspiciously and chased him out of the store.
The man, shown in the photo from surveillance video, is 400 lbs and 6'4". He has also been spotted by police in a similar case in northwest New Jersey. Police have not released his identity.

Nov. 20: Ryan Murrin, 21, of Atlantic Drive in Brick Township was arrested by Hazlet Police Officer Mike Tristao for DWI, driving with an open container of brandy in the car, and nine other motor vehicle violations. He was stopped because he was operating a motor vehicle without its lights on at 10:45 p.m. on Highway 36. Murrin was also charged with refusal to submit a breath sample.
Nov. 25: Two people were arrested on Route 36 and Union Avenue and charged with possession of crack cocaine. Jennifer Lee Otero, 26, of East 120th St. in New York City and her boyfriend, William Hutchins, 23 of Forest Place in Keansburg were charged. Hazlet Police Officer Vincent Quinn stopped their vehicle because it was being driven at 9 p.m. without its lights on. They were released pending a court date.
