23 law firms??? Couldn't we get by with only 15 or so? Part of what is wrong with NJ. 20% of property taxes are consumed by Monmouth County. Couldn't we TRY and consolidate a few serivices?

bud,
I think your numbers may be wrong 20% of NJ property taxes going to Monmouth country sounds just plain wrong (to high). As far as to many LAWYERS we need Tort reform in a big way. If you check other Countries like Japan and England they got it right. In Civil litigation the litigant pays all fees if he or she loses . What do you think would happen to our Lawyer population. We need to stop electing Lawyers to public office ,we need term limits for all in Government .
Also I think your numbers on law firms is probably to low

David, take a look at your most recent property tax bill. About 65% goes to schools, 20% to Monmouth County. By the time we pay the town employees, there is nothing left to fight over any more! According to the Wall Street Journal, the USA has 6% of the world's population and 85% of the world's lawyers! No other society could carry such a burden for long. I support Curley 100%. He is the best thing to happen to MC in a long, long time.
