Police: Colts Neck Bank Robber Arrested in Alabama
Waleed A. Saleh, 32 of Staten Island was arrested by the F.B.I at a Sheraton Hotel.
Waleed A. Saleh, 32 of Staten Island was arrested Monday and charged with first degree armed robbery, after allegedly robbing Chase Bank in Colts Neck at gunpoint.
The FBI found Saleh in a Sheraton Hotel in Alabama, after a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Colts Neck Police Department Detective Richard Zarrillo.
After receiving cash on Feb. 21, Saleh allegedly fled in a dark two-door Infiniti with New York license plates. Police said the car headed south on Route 34, then north on Route 18.
Saleh is charged with first degree Armed Robbery, and the second degree offenses of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, according to a news released from the MCPO.
Bail is set at $750,000 with no 10 percent option.
